Steeped in the history of Motorsport, Phillip Island offers so much more than the exhilarating high speeds you'll witness at the circuit.
Iconic wildlife and pristine white beaches can be found in abundance on the island. The famous Penguin Parade, koalas in their natural habitat and majestic whales should all be on your checklist while visiting Phillip Island. A nature-lovers paradise, there is no shortage of options to unwind after a day of adrenaline-fuelled racing!
Despite it's relative rural feel, Phillip Island caters well for tourists, with no shortage of restaurants and bars. The local businesses will always go the extra mile to satisfy the motor sport fanatics who travel to the island during the race weekend. Cowes is the main township on Phillip Island, a bustling shopping area approximately an hour walk from the circuit.
The nearest major airport is Melbourne Tullamarine Airport which hosts both domestic and international flights and is located about 22km north-west of Melbourne city centre. Taxis and a 24-hour Skybus run between the airport and central Melbourne, or car rental can be found in the short stay car park. International visitors may find it necessary to fly via Sydney Airport.
It is possible to get from the airport to the main hotels in Melbourne via a shuttle service run by Skybus. They run approximately every 15 minutes throughout the day (hourly at night) and an adult ticket will cost you around A$18 one way. These tickets can be bought online through the SkyBus website, or at the airport.
Ferry services will operate from Stony Point to Cowes, connecting with a shuttle bus to and from the circuit. Parking is available at Stony Point. Ferry tickets must be pre-booked online at: www.interislandferries.com.au/gp and will be available nearer the race weekend.
